Whānau staying well with medicines

Introduction

HRPHOW (He Rongoā Pai, He Oranga Whānau) a two day education programme that aims to increase the awareness and understanding of the appropriate use, storage and disposal of medicines.

This is a programme that has been initiated by PHARMAC (Pharmaceutical Management Agency) who are committed to ensuring Māori have access to quality information that assists and supports Māori Health initiatives in our communities.

There are several key themes and concepts relating to how Māori use medicines.  The objectives of this programme is to support kaimahi and whānau to develop key strategies that encourage whānau to safely and effectively use medication and rongoā and how both are positive investments in health.  The facilitators will include some of the country's leading professionals in Rongoā Māori, Māori Pharmacology and Primary Care.
