Kaupapa
For the purpose of improving outcomes for Māori and vulnerable populations Mauriora will collaborate and network to develop and provide:
- excellent education and training products and services
- robust research
- cultural competence and leadership
Mauriora is a Māori-led health, education and research consultancy. We are a registered PTE and a CME approved training provider for regulatory health authorities. We offer excellent training opportunities that are evidence based, outcome focussed and can demonstrate provable results.The key trainers of Mauriora are qualified educationalists and clinicians with national and international profiles and have tribal links to Ngāpuhi, Tūhoe, Ngāti Raukawa, Te Arawa, Te Rarawa, Ngāti Wai.
Whakamahimahi
Mauriora develop training curricula in conjunction with client needs and alongside qualified teachers, facilitators and lecturers. Our training is delivered primarily on the marae within a kaupapa Māori framework, but we do deliver training in a variety of other settings as and when required.Mauriora is a NZQA registered private training establishment and qualifications are endorsed under the accreditation of Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi.
Mauriora is also accredited by the RNZCGP as a provider of continuing medical education, and we have worked with government agencies, medical, nursing and pharmacy groups, specialty societies, disability providers, ACC, DHB’s, primary healthcare organisations, and other health-related groups.

Riripeti Haretuku

Chief Executive Officer
Riripeti is of Ngāpuhi,Tūhoe and Te Arawa descent.
She joins Mauriora Associates from her position as the Quality Improvement Manager, 2009-2011, Health Sponsorship Council based in Wellington.
She was also the National Māori SIDS Programme Director from 1994 -2008, based at the University of Auckland, where she managed a comprehensive national public health programme.
Her oversight responsibilities included health promotion, health education, resource development, community development, research and clinical elemen ts for the prevention of SIDS in Māori communities. A key focus of the Māori SIDS team was to promote non smoking to pregnant Māori women. In this role she became the inaugural chair of Apaarangi Tautoko
Auahi Kore (ATAK) who was responsible for providing oversight for Māori tobacco policy and advocacy in New Zealand. ATAK worked in union with Te Hotu Manawa Māori who were responsible for the coordination of tobacco services for Māori.
She is currently the Chair of Hauora.com (National Māori health workforce development) and the Past Chair of Te Whiringa Trust (National Māori community health workers collective).
Riripeti has also served as a committee member of the National Health Committee and the Public Health Advisory Committee. In 2000 Riripeti was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit (NZOM) for services to Māori Health.
